A similar incident occurred in the United Kingdom which cost the company £11,690 ($14,368) after pleading guilty to breaching Section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The worker who fell three meters sustained permanent head and ear injuries and had to stay in the hospital for four days. If this happened in the United States, this would have been classified as a serious violation under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and would have cost around $14,502.
