  • Satellite Mode uses iridium satellites which are stronger than GPS. The signals used in Satellite Mode are only 485 miles from Earth, more than 12,000 miles closer than GPS satellites.
  • Satellite Mode is also more resilient to weather problems. It’s stronger signal also allows it to penetrate windows and walls to indoor locations where GPS is not available.
  • There are 66 Iridium satellites that circle the Earth every 100 minutes whereas GPS has 24 satellites that circle the Earth every 12 hours (2 times per day.)
