Today, leading SaaS Health & Safety specialist EcoOnline announces the appointment of Helene Melby Brodersen as its new Head of ESG & Sustainability. This represents an important milestone in the company’s drive to strengthen and enhance its ongoing ESG internal and external strategy and delivery.
The landmark appointment follows the organisation’s announcement of its 2025 Sustainability Plan, which details specific metrics ensuring EcoOnline’s responsible operations and business ethics, as well as its impact opportunities. The new role will see Brodersen take the lead in ensuring the company continues to deliver on its own commitments, with an equally tireless focus on providing real-world ESG solutions to clients.
Brodersen brings over 20 years of experience in PR, Communication, and Marketing, as well as a degree in Sustainability from the BI Norwegian Business School. She has been with EcoOnline for 10 years as Head of PR, Brand & Communication, where she dedicated her messaging to translating complex topics into easy-to-read and engaging stories.
She is passionate about connecting EcoOnline’s solutions with the higher purpose of creating safer and more sustainable workplaces, helping businesses to move beyond ESG strategy to practical delivery.
Honest and transparent reporting is now essential for businesses worldwide, requiring correct and comprehensive underlying data. Furthermore, ESG & Sustainability reporting is shifting from a voluntary to a mandatory process, which will require the same level of governance, control, accuracy, and auditability as financial reporting. Brodersen will therefore be enrolled into the Finance business unit, reporting directly to EcoOnline’s CFO.
On Brodersen’s new position, CFO Siw Ødegaard comments, “I’m delighted to announce Helene’s new role. Her proven ESG expertise, including a deep understanding of best practice implementation, reflects our continued commitment to providing clients with the best-in-class digital ESG tools currently available. A long-time, passionate advocate for sustainability, her appointment will enhance, advance, and accelerate our ESG activity in years to come.”
Speaking about her new position, Brodersen says, “The opportunity to spearhead a purpose-driven ESG strategy for EcoOnline is an exciting next step in our long-term objective of embedding sustainability in all areas of our business. I’m looking forward to getting started and helping our customers to build a case for sustainable practices through enhanced ESG reporting as a function of a digital EHS management system. Knowing that ESG compliance doesn’t have to be difficult, my focus will be to create a better and wider understanding of the correlation between ESG and a healthy and safe working environment.”
